I was wondering about the interactions between Psychic Spiral and Rest in Peace. I'm wondering if it doesn't work like Helm of Obedience? They don't put any cards in their graveyard. Is it because it's not worded "They put cards from the top of their library into their graveyard until they've put x cards"? Is until the key word here?
It does not work like Helm of Obedience. They take "that many" cards from their library and then put them into their graveyard. The putting into graveyard then gets replaced.
Essentially it counts the cards leaving the library, not going into the graveyard.

"[Screw] you and the green you ramped in on." - My EDH battle cry. If I had one. Which I don't.
It doesn't work like Helm of Obedience. Rest in Peace would simply exile the cards that would have been put into the graveyard.
Yes, the wording on the Helm of Obedience is the reason. It tells you to mill until you put X cards or a creature card into the graveyard, which will never happen. This is probably why these kind of effects are worded differently now (see Mind Funeral.)
