okay, so my question is about the card Angel's Grace. A friend and I were curious about how it worked with general damage. Said friend believes commander damage works like "poison counters" in the fact that the 21 damage is dealt so regardless of if i don't die that turn i will next upkeep. However i believe its just another form of damage and it would take me to "20 gen. damage dealt".
It should also be noted that if you take 21 or more general damage during a turn when you've cast Angel's Grace, you will lose the game during the cleanup step when the effect ends, since state-based actions are still checked during this step.

so who's correct?
You're still taking all the damage; Angel's Grace just modifies the normal consequence of taking that damage (life loss).
