Scenario: Opponent controls a flip card (let's say Reckless Waif), and I cast Phyrexian Metamorph, copying Waif. I now have a 1/1 artifact creature Waif. Now...
a) Can metamorph'd Waif transform?
b) If metamorph'd Waif transforms, will it be an artifact? How about if it transforms twice?
Your Phyrexian Metamorph will have the triggered ability of Reckless Waif's, but unfortunately, your metamorph will not be able to transform. If at any time 2 spells are cast, your ability will trigger and when it resolves, it will do nothing.
701.25a Only permanents represented by double-faced cards can transform. (See rule 711, “Double-Faced Cards.”) If a spell or ability instructs a player to transform any permanent that isn’t represented by a double-faced card, nothing happens.
