I don't know why I've never known the answer to this, but I don't.
Scenario:
I have Birds of Paradise in play. My opponent targets birds with Shock. In response, I play Giant Growth on my Birds in an attempt to save it.
Now, I know that damage stays on the creature until the end of the turn, and the effect of Giant Growth lasts until the end of turn. My question is: At the end of the turn, will Giant Growth's effect be removed first, leaving the Birds to die to the 2 damage that's still on it, or will the damage and the effect of Giant Growth both be removed simultaniously, saving the Birds?
Alright, I thought so, but we had a situation come up in a multiplayer game where I played a Firespout and someone pumped his creatures in response, and there was disagreement about whether or not they would die or live. Thanks.
