This recently happened in my casual play group. My opponent argued that Teferi restricts him to playing spells whenever he can play a sorcery, but the Orrery lets him play sorceries whenever he can play instants, so he can still play any non-land card whenever he can play instants. I see his point, and find it a very interesting logic loop. However I'm not too sure. Can anyone clarify how this situation is resolved?
9/25/2006 The last ability means that in order for an opponent to play a spell, it must be that opponent's turn, during a main phase, and the stack must be empty. This is true even if the player doesn't have a sorcery he or she is able to play, or if a rule or effect allows a spell to be played at another time.
I was thinking that this was an instance of "can't overrides can", but Teferi doesn't say "can't". However, the effect is the same.
And yes, no incantatrix for you. Or anyone. That class makes puppies cry. Mostly because they are the former Big Bads who have been Baleful Polymorphed into said puppies. By you. Because you're an incantatrix.

This is Deraxas we're talking about.
Remember, the girl that just killed an aspect of herself before literally consuming her?
Yeah, I don't see her handling a pissing match in any way other than a duel.

I suppose it's true. Though the logistics implied in a human/Great Wyrm Prismatic Dragon pairing makes me shudder.
...Something tells me that even should all arcane casters in the world unite, that the Grease spell would NOT be sufficient.

It most definately is. Teferi says "You can't play spells unless it's the main phase and you have an open stack." Orrery says "You can play spells at any time."
