The OP thought if you Ghost Quarter your own Evolving Wilds, and crack the Wilds in response, then you would get a land from the Quarter and from the Wilds.
This isn't the case, as if you crack the Wilds, the GQ ability has no target on resolution and fizzles.
you cannot get two lands. If in response to the ability of sacrificing the evolving wilds to search for a land you activate the ghost quarter to kill it. the Evolving Wilds is no longer a valid target. You will still search for a basic land from the Wilds and put it into play tapped, but your ghost quarter will still be gone.

I'm sure he meant to say you get no land from the Ghost Quarter ability, but you still get your one land from the Evolving Wilds ability...
