When Moon-Blessed Cleric* enters the battlefield, I may choose to search my library for an enchantment. If I choose to do this, I have two questions:
- What if there are no enchantments in the library?
- Can I choose not to reveal an enchantment and put it at the top of my library? That is, can I opt to simply shuffle my deck again?
This has come up in a draft tournament where I couldn't remember what enchantments, if any, were left in my deck. I know the action as a whole is optional, but uncertain if you can skip the "reveal and put on top of library" part of the action. I know from other cards that you have the option to reveal, but this card doesn't have that wording.
(* This card appears to be entered incorrectly in the DB here as Moon-Blessed Oracle)
Since the ability asks you to search a hidden zone for a card with particular characteristics, you always have the option to fail to find an appropriate card during the search.
(The personal knowledge of players that a library contains a certain card is irrelevant; the game doesn't know it.)
The ability will continue to do what it can, ignoring instructions that are impossible. In your example, you will still shuffle your library.
See also Land Tax, whose ability has three ways that a player need not find exactly "three basic land cards": "you may", "up to three", and C.R. 701.19b (see also this thread).
