I’ve been watching a debate on a facebook group about whether or not it’s possible to go infinite if you have a Mana Vault enchanted with Power Artifact during your upkeep.(and yes I understand “infinite” is not a thing in MTG)
So I thought I’d get an answer here.
A simple yes or no answer will suffice.
No. The only activated ability Mana Vault has is its last one that lets you tap it for mana. The first ability is a static ability and the other two are triggers which don't work with Power Artifact.
If you look at a 4th Ed Mana Vault it looks like it has an activated ability that can only be activated during the upkeep. However, that's no longer what the card says. The current Oracle Text of Mana Vault says that it only has one activated ability, the mana ability.
