Hello, so we're playing MTG multi with the right attack option only. 4 players. I'd like to know how the blade of selves with myriad principle works. Can the tokens that copy of equiped creature are able to attack theoretically illegal opponents? Will it come in and can't attack? How it's working?
508.4b A creature that’s put onto the battlefield attacking isn’t affected by requirements or restrictions that apply to the declaration of attackers.
The Attack-Left and Attack-Right options impose restrictions on attacker declaration, and those don't apply to creatures entering the battlefield attacking as per the above rule.
For referrence:
803.1a If the attack left option is used, a player can attack only an opponent seated immediately to their left. If a player’s nearest opponent to the left is more than one seat away, the player can’t attack.
803.1b If the attack right option is used, a player can attack only an opponent seated immediately to their right. If a player’s nearest opponent to the right is more than one seat away, the player can’t attack.
That comes as a surprise to me. You're saying that rule 508.4b actually trumps both 803.1 AND 101.2?
101.2. When a rule or effect allows or directs something to happen, and another effect states that it can’t happen, the “can’t” effect takes precedence.
It doesn't trump anything; it is a different situation. "Attack Left/Right" (as the rules above state) says that creatures can only attack to the left or right. Nothing about the rules says that a creature can't be "attacking" someone else. Creatures put onto the battlefield tapped and attacking do not attack. Those rules apply to declaring attackers which "put onto the battlefield attacking" is not.
801.10. Spells and abilities can't affect objects or players outside their controller's range of influence. The parts of the effect that attempt to affect an out-of-range object or player will do nothing. The rest of the effect will work normally.
Since Myriad is trying to affect a player outside the AP's ROI, it just doesn't. In effect, those players are (more or less) deemed not to exist for most things.
It does, but this is because of an important subtlety. There is a significant difference between a creature being 'declared as an attacker' and a creature being 'put onto the battlefield tapped and attacking'. The former would trigger an ability worded like "When [this creature] attacks, [effect]." The latter does not. This is why Myriad gets around the Attack-Left/Right options: The rule only restricts which players the active player can declare their creatures to attack during the declare attackers game action done at the start of the declare attackers step of the active player. It says nothing about creatures being put onto the battlefield (tapped and) attacking a player.
508.4. If a creature is put onto the battlefield attacking, (...) Such creatures are “attacking” but, for the purposes of trigger events and effects, they never “attacked.”
509.5b An ability that reads “Whenever [a creature] blocks a creature, . . .” triggers (...) if the creature is declared as a blocker. (...) It won’t trigger if the creature is put onto the battlefield blocking.
The Attack-Left and Attack-Right options impose restrictions on attacker declaration, and those don't apply to creatures entering the battlefield attacking as per the above rule.
