I tried looking for an answer, but only found similar, but not the exact answer.
1. Suppose there's a global effect on board that affects all creatures toughness, which will obviously kill certain creatures when SBE are checked. (Heartless Summoning or Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite)
2. Let's say, there's are other cards that will trigger an ETB and a Death trigger.
My question is, during the SBE check, if there are additional triggers that happen as result of the SBE doing it's thing.
Do the new triggers get placed at the same time (and thus order may be chosen) as the existing triggers?
Which case is true here A or B?
A.
Cast creature with ETB.
Creature resolves and ETB triggers.
SBE occurs. Checks and sends creature to GY (a death trigger occurs)
I can no order both the ETB and death trigger as I choose. (provided I control the trigger source)
Player regains priority as all triggers are on stack and no more SBE
OR
B.
Cast creature with ETB.
Creature resolves and ETB triggers.
SBE occurs. Death trigger occurs.
Place ETB on stack (or multiple ETB,) completing original SBE check.
SBE occurs again (from the Death Trigger)
Place Death trigger on stack above the previous ETBs.
Player regains priority as all triggers are on stack and no more SBE.
You cast Gravegouger while your opponent controls Elesh Norn.
All players pass, then Gravegouger resolves and enters the battlefield (with power and toughness 0/0 because of Elesh Norn) (C.R. 117.4, 608.3, 603.6b, 109.5). Gravegouger's first ability triggers (C.R. 603.3).
Now the active player would get priority, but first state-based actions are checked and see Gravegouger having a toughness of 0, so Gravegouger goes to the graveyard so that its leaves-the-battlefield ability triggers (C.R. 117.3b, 117.5, 704.5f).
Now state-based actions are checked again, but need to do nothing now (C.R. 704.3).
Now the two triggered abilities waiting to go on the stack are put there; since you controlled Gravegouger when both abilities triggered, you can order them on the stack as you choose (C.R. 117.5, 113.8, 603.3b).
SBE occurs. Checks and sends creature to GY (a death trigger occurs)
I can now order both the ETB and death trigger as I choose. (provided I control the trigger source)
Player regains priority as all triggers are on stack and no more SBE
Scenario A is the correct answer.
All triggers get placed on the stack only after all SBA are done. (some exceptions may apply, but not here)
704.3. Whenever a player would get priority (...), the game (…) performs all applicable state-based actions simultaneously as a single event. If any state-based actions are performed as a result of a check, the check is repeated; otherwise all triggered abilities that are waiting to be put on the stack are put on the stack, then the check is repeated. Once no more state-based actions have been performed as the result of a check and no triggered abilities are waiting to be put on the stack, the appropriate player gets priority.
