No. The life gain clause on Spinal Embrace is part of the the delayed triggered ability that triggers at the beginning of the next end step after Spinal Embrace resolved, and that ability is the only way Spinal Embrace can make you gain life. The life gain is not a separate ability that would trigger if you sacrifice the creature in an other way.
