I looked for an answer to this question so I'm sorry if it's been answered already. So I recently bought into modern humans from a friend. When he used to play it in the shop he would cast thalia's lieutenant and in response to the etb trigger use æther vial to put champion of the parish in play. The end result would have 2 counters on champion and 1 on the lieutenant because he claimed they both saw each other etb. Both of them definitely get 1 counter, but I was unsure about the champion getting 2. I still play the interaction this way at our LGS, but I'm going to an SCG modern open soon. I want to make sure that is indeed how the interaction works and that I'm not cheating. Thanks in advance for your help!
Well, you are right to question the scenario because it is wrong. Things only "see" each other the way you are thinking if they enter at the same time. These don't enter at the same time. If the Lieutenant is already on the field (which it must be in order to trigger), putting Champion on the field won't allow it to see the Lieutenant enter since it is too late for that.
In your scenario, each will end up with one counter.
If people are sick of reading about stuff just stop taking part. You have 100% control over what you read. Simic Ascendancy isn't going to get banned just because you didn't tell someone to shut up on the internet.

That would be a different scenario.
In that other scenario, both would add a counter to Champion of the Parish; Thalia's Lieutenant would get none.
