I own a Najeela, the Blade-Blossom commander deck and am currently looking for cards I can get to upgrade it. While doing so I stumbled upon Reconnaissance. As I understand it, I can use that card to attack with all my creatures and therefore get Najeela's attack-trigger for all of them and then just simply remove them from combat (including the tokens I created) in say the declare-blockers step. Is that correct? And can I even activate Reconnaissance after blockers are declared but before damage is dealt to only remove my creatures that are actually being blocked? I would think so, yet am unsure, simply because it seems like not a lot of people play it in their Najeela deck (at least according to EDHREC).
I hope you understand what I mean and can help me.
Thanks!
Reconnaissance's ability can target any "attacking creature you control", even if it's unblocked and even if it entered the battlefield attacking (e.g., a token created with Najeela) (C.R. 115.1c, 508.4). In fact, it can target such a creature even after it has assigned combat damage, and even during the end of combat step (C.R. 115.1c). See also this thread.
EDIT (Nov. 21) : Some rules were renumbered with Core Set 2020.
As the above person said. Yes. You can do it all. Even deal damage and then untap and remove your creatures from combat, giving them vigilance.
