If i were to attack and deal combat damage to an opponent with Etrata, the Silencer, therefore exiling a creature of theirs with a hit counter on it, would I be able to use something like Fated Infatuation to make a copy of it before it gets shuffled into my library (or returns to the command zone)? Then, since there would be multiple of the same legendary, I would choose the copy to stay, and then Etrata would go into my graveyard (or the command zone). I am almost 100% positive it wouldn't work, because I think the exiling of the opponent's creature and the shuffling etrata into my library happen simultaneously, but I might as well make sure.
Exiling the opponent's creature and shuffling Etrata, the Silencer do happen almost simultaneously (it is in sequence but what matters is that you can't do anything between those two actions), that's true.
But you can cast an instant like Fated Infatuation in response to the whole ability going to the stack, before you exile the creature. Even though you send the original Etrata to the graveyard (or command zone) this way to keep the copy, her ability still resolves and do what it can, exiling the targeted creature.

I always thought that commander after being destroyed or exiled has to go back to command zone. Reading this it doesn't seem so.
My question is, if commander can be put to the graveyard then how long can it stay there and can I use card like body double to copy it ( Etrata, the Silencer in particular) to benefit from not casting it again from command zone which means paying extra 2.
Putting a commander into the command zone as it changes zones is an optional replacement effect. If you have it be put there it never dies and never touches your graveyard. You can put your commander into your graveyard if you please and it will stay there but then can't just put it back into the command zone at will.
OK but then I can use Consecrate to bring it back to the command zone or Saving Grasp to play it again without paying extra 2. Am I correct ?
Sure. If your commander is in your graveyard and you target it with Consecrate, you can choose to put it in the command zone instead of exile when the spell resolves.
Saving Grasp would return it to your hand if you want it to, and since you'd be casting it from your hand you wouldn't be affected by commander tax. Commander tax only applies when you cast it from the command zone. It's too early for reading cards apparently
Using Consecrate // Consume to exile the card lets you put it back into the command zone, yes. You can then cast it again from there with an increased commander tax.
Saving Grasp can only target a creature, which means a creature permanent. You can't cast it on a creature card in the graveyard, that's not a valid target.
Just small correction.
I meant card lit Soulless Revival not Saving Grasp. This would bring Etrata back to my hand and give me possibility to cast it again without extra 2

Yes, in this case if your commander is somehow in your graveyard (for example, if it was destroyed and you chose to let it go to your graveyard rather than put it into the command zone), you could use Soulless Revival or something similar to return it to your hand, where you can cast it without having to pay the commander tax.
Remember, the commander tax only applies to casting your commander from the command zone, not anywhere else.

Yes, you do not have to pay any inherent additional cost to cast your commander from your hand rather than the command zone no matter how many times the commander has been put into the command zone this game.
But you can cast an instant like Fated Infatuation in response to the whole ability going to the stack, before you exile the creature. Even though you send the original Etrata to the graveyard (or command zone) this way to keep the copy, her ability still resolves and do what it can, exiling the targeted creature.
I have a question to this comment
