Lighting Bolt resolving and dealing damage to your Ripjaw, is a separate event from the Guide dealing combat damage to Ripjaw. Each event causes Ripjaw's enrage ability to trigger and resolve separately.
Thanks for clearing that up, but I have other questions. I already know that if raptor is blocked by multiple creatures I only draw one card. but how about if raptor is hit by 2 lightning bolts? Do I draw one card from that or two cards?
Two Bolts are two seperate events, unlike combat damage which is one event no matter how many creatures are dealing it. In fact, with two Bolts, you draw the first card before the second Bolt deals damage. Because the trigger from the first Bolt goes on top of the second one on the Stack and thus gets to resolve before it. So you could potentially get and cast a Giant Growth for example to save the Raptor.

two cards. Each lightning bolt is a separate spell and resolves separately. It is not a single damage event like combat damage.

Two cards.
Only one spell can resolve at a time, even if they were played "together".
One Lightning Bolt spells resolves before the other, and deals damage to Ripjaw. Ripjaw's enrage ability triggers and goes on to the stack while the other LB spell is still on the stack.
Then the Enrage ability resolvea and you draw a card.
Only after that, the other LB spell on the stack resolves, dealing damage to Ripjaw. Ripjaw dies but enrage triggers again for you to draw another card.

Helpful informations, will remember them!
Have been testing raptor as a one-of in ponza. And as expected in meta of Burn decks, it often gets bolted to death one way or the other. So these answers are helpful to me.
I often find myself in the process of teaching Magic to beginners. You might help me become better at it if you described the thought process by which you came to believe that 2 Lightning Bolts could make Raptor trigger only one time. If you could spare the time, of course.
I realize this is asking a lot. Thanks in advance, if you respond, and have a nice day, whether you respond or not!
Actually, this is the only "enrage" creature in my deck. Don't play Standard, so not familiar at all with "enrage". My thought process became locked into multiple blockers deal damage to raptor = draw only one card, so two bolts deal damage to raptor might also draw only one card. Of course, the final step is always to ask here in the forums.
Thanks in advance, if you respond, and have a nice day, whether you respond or not!
You're welcome. Sorry for late reply, was eating dinner. A little surprised you thought I would not respond. Would not do such a rude thing to someone asking a friendly question, and I remember you helped me with a rules question before. Anyway, I'm also sometimes teaching friends who are interested in mtg.. we use these simple decks. Goodluck in teaching your friends too. It's better with more people playing magic. ^^
While we're on this, someone should mention that an enrage creature being hit with Pestilence and friends also counts as separate events, even though it's the same permanent doing the damage.
But Furnace of Rath and friends don't make damage trigger enrage twice.
Also, if all the damage is prevented, enrage won't trigger.
Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

...because the damage is dealt by separate instances of the activated ability resolving. Even if the abilities resolve one after another immediately, it can't possibly be at the same time.
But Furnace of Rath and friends don't make damage trigger enrage twice.
...because they only change an amount of damage, being replacement effects; they don't copy spells or abilites, nor do they usually have triggered abilities that themselves deal damage.
Also, if all the damage is prevented, enrage won't trigger.
...because zero damage is not damage at all. This is the same reason a blocking Kraken Hatchling won't trigger its blocked creature's enrage ability during the combat damage step.

Let's examine why this is.[quote from="hyalapterouslemur »" url="/forums/magic-fundamentals/magic-rulings/801690-enrage-question?comment=13"]While we're on this, someone should mention that an enrage creature being hit with Pestilence and friends also counts as separate events, even though it's the same permanent doing the damage.
thanks again for all the help. Enrage is the trickiest rule I've encountered so far with cards that I use in FNM.
Just one more question on this. This is one more thing that could happen when playing with friends at the lgs. If a Grim Lavamancer blocks my raptor, then lavamancer taps to do additional 2 damage to raptor. Would I draw one card or two cards?
Typically in this instance enrage would trigger twice, once (probably in the declare blockers step) from noncombat damage and once (in the combat damage step) from combat damage.

Also, if all the damage is prevented, enrage won't trigger.
And, while covering every corner case, the draws are separate events themselves. Just in case that comes up...
