So apologies if this is a dumb question, I'm fairly new (been playing since July) and still get confused by some situations with triggers. I just play kitchen table commander, and was looking into making a Naban, Dean of Iteration deck and was trying to figure out exactly how he would interact with a Panharmonicon on the battlefield as well? Say you had both Naban and Panharmonicon on the battlefield and you cast Exclusion Mage, would the Exclusion Mage trigger 3 times (trigger itself, Naban, and Panharmonicon) or 4 times(trigger itself, Naban, Panharmonicon, and Panharmonicon trigger Naban again)?
Again sorry if I'm making this more complicated than it should be, but I appreciate any help understanding!
Naban, Dean of Iteration and Panharmonicon both have what are called replacement effects normal static abilities. These aren't triggered abilities, they're static abilities that look for something to happen and make something else happen. So Exclusion Mage is a Wizard and has a triggered ability triggered by itself (a creature) entering the battlefield. Naban makes it so it triggers again, and Panharmonicon does as well (you can apply these in any order but it really doesn't matter in this case); you put three instances of the ability on the stack.
Nope. Those are also replacement effects, which, as we just covered, are not triggered abilities.
Basically - If it starts with a cost and a colon, it's activated. If it starts with "At", "When", or "Whenever", it's triggered. Otherwise, it's static.
Ah okay, so yeah I was overcomplicating it! Thanks!
Would the static abilities also work with ETB triggers that add counters, like Academy Elite ?
Yes and know. The specific card you are citing is a replacement ability so it will not work, but any card that has a triggered ability (the ability will begin with the word when, whenever, or at) to get a counter will work. For example if you control Cathar's Crusade and a wizard enters the battlefield while you control Panharmonican and Naban you will get 3 triggers.

The effects found in Naban and Panharmonicon are not replacement effects; rather they express continuous effects that change the rules of the game (C.R. 101.1, 611.1; they do so by modifying C.R. 603.2c in part). Note that the abilities of neither permanent contain "instead" (C.R. 614.1a) or have a form given in C.R. 614.1b-e. On the other hand, Academy Elite's first ability does express a replacement effect, since it does have a form specified for such effects, namely "[This permanent] enters the battlefield with..." (C.R. 614.1c).
603.1. Triggered abilities (…) are written as “[When/Whenever/At] [trigger condition or event], [effect]. [Instructions (if any).]”
602.1. Activated abilities (…) are written as “[Cost]: [Effect.] [Activation instructions (if any).]”
614.1c Effects that read “[This permanent] enters the battlefield with . . . ,” (…) are replacement effects.
So which is it? Are they replacement effects because they apply continuously as something causes something else to trigger, or are they not because they don't have the phrases from 614?
Naban and Panharmonicon are, in fact, replacement effects.
The card doesn't use the word 'would', 'instead', 'skip', or 'regenerate'.
And, a distinction without a difference. Torpor Orb is the only card that either effect interacts with, and none of the semantics for 615. Interaction of Replacement Effects bear on the outcomes or possibilities.
