701.13a If the effect of a resolving spell or ability regenerates a permanent, it creates a replacement effect that protects the permanent the next time it would be destroyed this turn. In this case, “Regenerate [permanent]” means “The next time [permanent] would be destroyed this turn, instead remove all damage marked on it and tap it. If it’s an attacking or blocking creature, remove it from combat.”
Emphasis mine. An indestructible can't be destroyed by "destroy" effects so there's no effect to replace.
Wrath of God doesn't do anything to regeneration shields; what it does is ignore them.
I wasn't thinking *** did anything to the shield, although I can see how that might be inferred from my question. The thought that led to the question was wondering whether "can't be regenerated" prevents the shield from being used up anyway.
Well in either case, because the creature has indestructible, it will never regenerate. Impossible events cannot be replaced (except for the effect "draw a card").
If you Death Ward it, then Wrath it, then remove the Darksteel Plate, it still has a regenerate shield.

Although effects that destroy a permanent and provide that that permanent "can't be regenerated", such as in Wrath of God, ignore regeneration effects on that permanent (C.R. 701.14c; see also C.R. 608.2c, 101.2), that doesn't mean other effects (such as indestructible [C.R. 702.12b], totem armor [C.R. 702.88a], or some other effect) can't keep that permanent from being destroyed (see also this thread, comment 2).
And if some effect other than regeneration keeps a permanent from being destroyed, that permanent's regeneration effects will still remain until end of turn (C.R. 701.14a) (see also this thread, comment 5).

After Death Ward resolves, somebody casts Wrath of God.
After Wrath of God resolves, I play Runeclaw Bear and equip my Darksteel Plate to it.
After moving my equipment, somebody casts Day of Judgment.
Do both of my bears survive, or did the doubly-useless regeneration shield get used up by the Wrath of God?

This would also be true if something other than regeneration replaced the permanent's destruction.
