Im currently playing a Wizards/monk's commander deck with copy spells, retrieve spells and cast from graveyard abilities and im wondering if beacon of tomorrows is ever put into the graveyard during its phase? Am I able to return it to hand at any time? Or is it cast and immediately shuffled into my library? Ive had some interesting arguments because my opponents play creatures with "you may cast sorcery or instants from target opponents graveyards" and feasibly once you cast beacon you set it on your graveyard and take your extra turn then you shuffle it into your library.
In response I play a soulfire grand master and bounce it to my hand to keep from having to deal with opponents copying it from my graveyard as some decks thrive upon waiting for an opponent to play a powerful spell and flashing a creature into play and then using combos to infinitely copy said creature 1000 times and thus casting your spell an infinite number of times.
Does beacon of tomorrows ever touch your graveyard allowing opponents the opportunity to cast it before its shuffled? And if I bounce it to my hand to I need to then shuffle it into my library from my hand? Or should I keep a few counter spells for creatures to defend myself?
If any of the beacons resolve they are shuffled back into its owners library as part of the resolution of the spell and will not go any where near your graveyard.
It is only going to be in your graveyard after being cast if your opponent counters it.

Grand Master cannot send Beacon of Tomorrows back to your hand, because its "instead of into your graveyard as it resolves" ' clause will never be satisfied:
Either Beacon resolves, and thus goes to your lib, which contradicts the part saying instead of into your graveyard.
Or Beacon is countered by opponent, which contradicts the part saying as it resolves.

What if Beacon's target is illegal?

If Beacon's target is illegal then it is countered by game rules and that contradicts the part saying as it resolves.
