I have been playing mtg for a few years now and I've never really questioned a certain effect. I like older cards and I've been looking around for some 1-drop cards and I came across it. The card in question is reef shaman. I like the effect a lot but does the effect end on my turn or my opponents turn? It's a simple question but I would really like to confirm it.
Unless an effect specifies otherwise, end of turn always refers to the current turn (so, the turn you activate it). If you activate it on your turn, it will end on your turn. If you activate it on their turn, it will end on their turn.

A player can activate an activated ability on an opponent's turn (C.R. 117.1b, 117.1, 117.3), unless the ability states otherwise (for example, if it says "Activate only during your turn" or "Activate only as a sorcery" [C.R. 307.5]; examples include Humble Defector and Defiant Salvager) (C.R. 602.1b). (Note that a player can activate only activated abilities [C.R. 602.1c].)

Sure, why not? The alternative would nerf part of "WB: Destroy target creature blocking or blocked byCromat." and make most of Grand Abolisher redundant.
112.3b Activated abilities have a cost and an effect. They are written as “[Cost]: [Effect.] [Activation instructions (if any).]” A player may activate such an ability whenever he or she has priority. Doing so puts it on the stack, where it remains until it’s countered, it resolves, or it otherwise leaves the stack. See rule 602, “Activating Activated Abilities.”

The only spells you can cast on your opponent's turn are instants, anything (notjust creatures) with flash, and anything you are instructed to cast during a resolution (e.g., madness).
