Ok so this one stumps me.
I have a Yahenni, Undying Partisan equipped with let’s say Chariot of Victory and no +1/+1 counters. My opponent would be in a need to block situation like say at 1 life. They have a 0/2 blocker. Yahenni attacks and they block. The blocker dies due to first strike triggering a counter for Yahenni, which I believe resolves. Due to trample, would Yahenni now trample through for 1 on the regular damage step? Or is damage set after blocks?
You assign all damage at once. So, you assign 2 damage to the blocker and 0 to the defending player. The blocker dies and you get a counter but it is too late to affect combat damage.

Yahenni WOULD get increased damage IF it had trample and DOUBLE strike, on the normal damage step though.
