Just checking my understanding of state based action as applied in combat.
Going into combat my opp. has Doomed Traveller, Geist-honored Monk and 3 1/1 tokens and a 3/3 creature making GHM 6/6. I declare 2 attackers, opp. blocks with doomed traveller and other with token, DT and token will die. I zap a 4 damage on GHM in response to blockers. Will GMH die ?
Yes, you can do this. It ultimately doesn't matter much when you deal 4 damage to the GHM as long as you do it before the Doomed Traveler trigger resolves. So, at some point, there will only be 4 creatures on the battlefield which makes its P/T 4/4. This means it can die due to having 4 damage marked on it.
Thanks for the heads up on card tagging. I didn't see it mentioned in the 'before you post' section but I went and searched for card tags after your instruction, found the 'how to' and will follow the protocol as I am very well aware how easier it is for learners to follow along when card images are there, being one myself. Cheers (-:
