- Player A's turn, Player A activates ability of Ember Hauler to deal 2 damage.
- Player B tries to respond it by casting Path to exile to Hauler.
Can Hauler deal 2 damage even after Path to Exile resolves?
Path to Exile cannot legally be cast on the Ember Hauler as part of the cost (the part before the : ) is that you have to sacrifice the Hauler, and that cannot be responded to
W may only be paid with white mana. U may only be paid with blue mana. B may only be paid with black mana. R may only be paid with red mana. G may only be paid with green mana. C may only be paid with colorless mana. 1 may be paid with white, blue, black, red, green, or clolorless mana.
What if the other way around?
Player A casts Path, PLayer B attempt to respons with sacrficing Hauler to deal 2 damages.
Hauler's activated ability resolves first, then exile is countered, am I right?

That's correct, Path to Exile would be countered for lack of a legal target and thus would have no effect. Player B won't get to search for a land.
