I just heard something about if your commander is the target of a banishing light esc ability. (The single version not a enter and leave version like Spell Queller )
I heard if you move the commander to the command zone if banishing light or whatever gets removed the commander comes back to the field for free.
This is true; this is because Banishing Light's effect exiles a permanent "until" something happens, and when it does, that card will return to the battlefield regardless of which zone the permanent was placed in when it was exiled, as long as the permanent was moved to a public zone, such as the command zone (C.R. 400.7h, 400.2), and that card didn't leave that zone (C.R. 400.7) (see also this thread).
Yes, it is true. Banishing Light's effect tracks the card in the first zone it goes to. Since the command zone replacement effect replaces going to exile with going to the command zone, the ability can track it there, and it will return if the Light leaves the battlefield.

Yes. All cards that exile for a duration, like until the permanent leaves the battlefield, work that way, because the end of the duration simply ends the effect and brings the card back from whereever it went to. Otoh, O-Ring and the like have an extra ability to bring the card back, and that ability specifically only looks in the exile zone, so if the card isn't there, for example if it never went there in the first place, it can't be brought back.

Is this true?
I was wondering about this.
Stasis Snare
Silk Wrap
Grasp of Fate
Oblivion Ring
Is this the same with cast out, stasis snare, silk wrap, and Grasp of Fate?
But not oblivion ring?
