If Puppeteer Clique dies at the beginning of my end step and re-enters due to persist, does the new creature I bring back from my opponent's graveyard (after Clique returns with -1/-1 counters) stay on the battlefield until the beginning of my NEXT end step (as in the following turn), or is it sacrificed right away (i.e., all end step effects occur simultaneously)?
As an example, I used Apprentice Necromancer to return Puppeteer Clique. At the beginning of my end step, Apprentice Necromancer made me sacrifice the Clique, but then the Clique returns to the battlefield and it's enter the battlefield effect triggers again--only this time during my end step. Since Puppeteer Clique's language clearly states "at the beginning of your next end step, exile [returned creature]," I would think I get to keep that creature one whole turn, as that sacrifice effect only occurs at the beginning of a new end step.
NOTE: Apprentice Necromancer's language has changed to read "At the beginning of the next end step, sacrifice it." No longer "At the end of turn..."
If Puppeteer Clique is put onto the battlefield because of Persist, then this is a step or phase in which players receive priority, and we have already passed its beginning during all the business of Persist resolving. In that circumstance, your next End step can't possibly be this step.
In your concrete example, you are for sure keeping that puppet for another turn, because your next End step can't be this one or any other step of this turn.
