I just read the Sept. 7 Bug Blog on the official wizards site and I read a peculiar "Ongoing" bug entry. (EDIT: The following quoted entry is a description of the alleged bug.)
Non-land permanents that have become lands due to an enchantment, such as Imprisoned in the Moon, do not trigger the third ability of The Gitrog Monster when put into the graveyard
It seems to me that because Gitrog's third ability is a "from anywhere" triggered ability, it should only care about the printed text of whatever card enters the graveyard (similar to Kozilek, Butcher of Truth vs Humility). So, is the bug blog wrong or did I miss something?
It looks like you understand, but because you think your understanding and the quoted portion conflict it seems you don't.
As you say, because Gitrog is "from anywhere" it doesn't look at the object that is heading to the graveyard, but the object that is currently in the graveyard. As such objects that were lands on the battlefield but aren't lands in the graveyard, by Imprisoned in the Moon or any of the flip cards from Ixalan, won't trigger the Gitrog. Both you and the quoted portion make this claim, so your misunderstanding is lost on me.

Sorry, I should have clarified that the bug blog entry that I quoted in my OP was a description of an ongoing bug, meaning, supposedly, that MTGO does this even though it shouldn't (according to the bug blog).
