I was playing a game of duels against AI on my phone, the AI cast rabid bite and then I stopped the timer and cast jace's scrutiny on the same creature that rabid bite was cast on. That creature still did 5 damage to my creature instead of 1, is this right?
No, that's not correct. Rabid Bite checks the power of the first targetd creature when it resolves and has it deal damage equal to that to the other creature. Any changes in power before the Bite resolves will change how much damage is being dealt.
(But maybe you targeted the wrong creature? Rabid Bite has two targets after all, the one that deals damage, and the one that receives it.)
