what happens when a creature with lifelink dies while Stalking Vengeance is out, do you gain life from the damage? if so, what about giving creatures lifelink temporarily, with something like vault of the archangel?
A multiplayer victory has to exist beyond simply beating your opponent, there has to be a mutual enjoyment of everyone involved. If you win the game and everyone else is miserable then you've still lost. What gets played is irrelevant.
The dying creature itself is the source of the damage in the Vengeance's triggered ability, so yes, you gain life. If a creature that has lifelink from an outside source - even if it's "until end of turn" - the same applies, since it still has lifelink as it dies.

To elaborate on what void said: abilities like this one, that trigger when a creature dies, have the ability to look back in time at the last known information of the permanent they're triggering off of. Because of this they can see things such as the power/toughness of the creature that died and any abilities the creature had. It doesn't matter that these may no longer be true about the creature, we only care that they were when it died. The biggest example of this is a clone, which is usually something something when on the battlefield and a 0/0 everywhere else, The game will look back and say "this WAS a something something so it had a power". Same with lifelink in this case.
608.2g If an effect requires information from the game (such as the number of creatures on the battlefield), the answer is determined only once, when the effect is applied. If the effect requires information from a specific object, including the source of the ability itself, the effect uses the current information of that object if it’s in the public zone it was expected to be in; if it’s no longer in that zone, or if the effect has moved it from a public zone to a hidden zone, the effect uses the object’s last known information. See rule 112.7a. If an ability states that an object does something, it’s the object as it exists—or as it most recently existed—that does it, not the ability.
Remember that Vengeance is looking for a creature - which only exist on the battlefield - and can't find it (since the creature in question is now a different object in the GY and is a creature card not a creature).
Last Known Information
Information about an object that’s no longer in the zone it’s expected to be in, or information about a player that’s no longer in the game. This information captures that object’s last existence in that zone or that player’s last existence in the game. See rules 112.7a, 608.2b, 608.2g, and 800.4g.
