While my friend and I had a classic Soul Sisters vs. Affinity battle, a situation came up where we didn't quite know the right ruling. Here is the situation:
I had a Stony Silence in Hideaway from Windbrisk Heights with at least three creatures attacking (3x 1/1 flying spirits)
I declared my attackers, and I tapped 1x Plains and tapped Windbrisk Heights to cast Stoney Silence. He responded with tapping his Springleaf Drum to tap his Etched Champion to create a Green mana. Stoney Silence came onto the battlefield and then he then tapped one of his islands while his green mana was floating and cast Naturalize on my Stoney Silence. Is this all properly done? I feel like he did make all the correct steps, but we weren't sure.
Yeah, it sounds right. While Stony Silence is on the stack, your opponent has the opportunity to activate abilities of artifacts they control. In this case, it is to float mana. Then, Stony Silence enters and, since the step in the game (Declare Attackers) is still the same, the mana is still there so your opponent can use it to naturalize the Stony Silence.

Thanks!
I figured everything was done correctly. He got the best of me there then!
