I run a Medomai the Ageless EDH deck. If Medomai hits a player when it has double strike, Medomai deals damage twice, giving me two extra turns. Additionally, I can use Strionic Resonator to copy Medomai's ability, which allows me to take an additional extra turn. My question is what happens if I use Strionic Resonator on Medomai with double strike. Do I get 3 extra turns or 4?
Medomai hitting with double strike just puts 2 instances of his triggered ability on the stack. Strionic Resonator is able to copy one instance. So you would have 3 instances of the ability on the stack. When they all resolve, the end result is 3 extra turns.
Ah, I see. I had thought that "copy triggered ability" meant that Medomai would essentially have two abilities saying "deal dmg to player = extra turn". I didn't realize "copy triggered ability" was more like "copy triggered effect".

Thanks for the quick answer!
Triggered abilities are objects that exist on the stack, just as spells and activated abilities do. They exist independently from both their source object and the triggering event.
Strionic Resonator targets NOT an object with a triggered ability (the source object), but the triggered ability itself while it is on the stack.

Double strike changes the combat phase to having two combat damage steps instead of the usual one. Medomai with double strike will not casue two instances of its trigger on the stack, rather the ability will trigger during each combat damage step. The end result is the same, 2 extra turns (3 if one instance is copied with the Resonator) but there is no time when all three instances are on the stack at the same time, since two of them trigger and resolve in different steps. (A step/phase can only end if the stack is empty and all players pass priority in succession.)
