So let's say I'm playing a mono white soldier deck and my opponent plays a Ward sliver from his hand and chooses white.
He only has the ward sliver in play and i have 6 soldiers in play..once his turn is over i decide I will attack with all 6..
He chooses to block 1(all he can do)
Now here are my 2 questions?
1. Since all silvers can't be dealt damage by white. My creature that ward sliver blocked would only get 2 damage dealt to it correct?
So if it was a 3/3 white soldier i attacked with both it and my opponents ward would live?
2. What about the other 5 white soldiers that i attacked with? Since nothing can block them does the player still get dealt damage and lose X amount of life.. Or is he protected for any damage as well.
1) That is correct, each creature will assign damage equal to its power to the other creature. The ward sliver will prevent the damage and the soldier would take 2 damage.
2) The protection only applies to slivers, and players are not slivers. So yes the 5 unblocked soldiers will deal their damage to the player causing that player to lose the appropriate life.
1. In this scenario, if a white creature would deal combat damage to a Sliver, that damage is prevented due to the Sliver's protection from white (C.R. 702.16e).
2. That player will still be dealt the combat damage. Ward Sliver's ability applies only to Slivers on the battlefield (controlled by any player), not to players (C.R. 109.2).

EDIT (Aug. 9): Clarification.
