I have a question regarding Fungus Sliver and Indestructibility, specifically in EDH while using Sliver Hivelord as my commander.
My understanding is that a creature with Indestructible is still dealt damage (during combat, blocking, from a spell, etc...). So I am wondering if Fungus Sliver's ability allows me to place +1/+1 counters on any Sliver I have in play that recieves damage from combat, or blocking attacking creatures, or any other source of damage. I feel like I found a rule stating that Indestructable creatures still take damage, but I can't seem to find it anymore.
Rule 701.6: Such permanents (Indestructible) are not destroyed by lethal damage, and they ignore the lethal-damage state-based action (see rule 704.5g). Rules or effects may cause an indestructible permanent to be sacrificed, put into a graveyard, or exiled. Mar 10, 2013
All rules of the game are in effect at all time and take place as normal unless overruled by rules text on a card. Indestructible has no mention of "no damage" or "damage prevention" in its ruling. It just prevents a creature from dying (moving to the graveyard via state-based actions) due to lethal effects like deathtouch or lethal damage (2 damage on a 2 toughness creature). Therefore, indestructible creatures still take damage. This same logic can be applied to any other question (i.e. that the normal rules of the game are in effect at all times unless overruled by rules text on a card).

Any thoughts?
The only thing indestructible does to damage is prevent it from destroying the creature if it is equal to the creatures toughness.
