So I was playing with some people the other day and we ran into a situation where a player used Hive Mind with Cruel Entertainment. I know this might seem like a troll question, but I'm actually pretty serious. Is there sort of an unofficial way to resolve this kind of scenario? Whose choice takes priority?

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
Priority is passed clockwise starting with the active player. Therefore, the player to the left of the caster of cruel entertainment will put their copy on the stack first, and must choose targets at this point. the player to the right will put theirs on last. This means the copies will resolve in a counterclockwise order beginning with the player to the right of the original caster, but targets will be decided in a clockwise fashion beginning with the caster of the original copy

You don't need any unofficial way to resolve the scenario. When multiple control of facts are affecting the same thing at the same time, the most recent one wins. Someone cast crew entertainment, hive mind as each other player cast a copy of cool entertainment in player order, then assuming nobody responds to all of those, the last one cast (which would be the one sitting to the right of the player who cast crew entertainment, I think) resolves first. That copy's controller chooses the two players to control each other for their next turns. Then the next copy resolves, of the player to their right. They choose two players. Either or both of those players could be players chosen by the first copy. All you really need to keep track of is, for each player, who is the last player to be chosen as a pair with them, and that Player will be in control of them on their next turn.

Well, it was actually a newcomer. But I will admit it felt like a three player game with a fourth gal playing the Joker from The Dark Knight with the kinds of cards she was playing. Her commander was Sen Triplets so I was assuming a control deck from the start, but I wasn't expecting that scenario. She also had Redirect on an Isochron Scepter.

To be clear, here is exaclty how it plays out with 4 people:
Player A casts Cruel Entertainment and it is put onto the stack choosing Player C and D to control each other.
Hive Mind Triggers.
Hive Mind resolves and Players B, C, and D each copy the spell.
Player B chooses Player A and C to control each other as their copy is put onto the stack.
Player C chooses Player A and B to control each other as their copy is put onto the stack.
Player D chooses Player B and C to control each other as their copy is put onto the stack.
Player D's spell resolves. Then C, then B, and finally the original spell cast.
Then, the game moves to Player B's turn. Because Player C's spell is last to resolve with Player B as a target, Player A controls Player B for this turn.
Then, it moves to player C's turn. Player D controls this turn (since Player A's spell above resolved last).
Then, it moves to Player D's turn and Player C controls Player D in this case since Player A's spell was the last to resolve.
Then, it moves back to Player A's turn and Player C controls player A due to Player B's spell.
Then, it moves to player B again and everything is normal. This is because the rest of the effects were overwritten by other effects created later.
