- I have only Vampire Nighthawk on my battlefield.
- My opponent casts Ground Assault to kill it
- I cast Riot Control to avoid loosing my creature
- My opponent casts Lightning Bolt to kill it
- I have nothing else to put on the stack so Vampire Nighthawk dies
- My opponent attacks with 3 creatures since I have no creature to block
Question: does Riot Control protects me against the attack?
Ok, my bad. Let me rephrase so I understand the stack...
- I have only Vampire Nighthawk on my battlefield.
- My opponent casts Ground Assault to kill it
- I cast a card that prevents damage to me AND my creatures (don't know the name) to avoid loosing my creature
- My opponent casts Lightning Bolt to kill it
- I have nothing else to put on the stack so Vampire Nighthawk dies
- My opponent attacks with 3 creatures since I have no creature to block
Question: does "that card I don't know the name" protects me against the attack?

You can still be attacked but riot control will prevent any combat damage dealt to you but not any creatures you control if you choose to block.
