Quick question. When you discard a card for any reason, with noose constrictor in play, does it gain the counter. If so, if you discard multiple cards, does it gain a counter for each discarded card? Or do cards have to be "discarded TO noose constrictor" ?
No. You have to pay the cost of an activated abilty specifically for that purpose in order to get the effect. Just because some other game action resembles the cost does not automatically activate such abilities. They don't work like triggers.
Also, Noose Constrictor's ability does not give counters. It just gives a temporary boost to power/toughness. Only if an effect actually uses the word "counter" are counters involved. See Scavenging Ooze as an example.
sorry, I didn't mean counter. I was looking at multiple cards and had counters on the brain.
So Could I discard more than once and give noose constrictor multiple bumps. I am not sold on playing this card and want to make sure I have the effects correct.
