Forgive me if I'm dredging up an old topic, but I am new to the forums, and just have a few questions regarding this card... Ulrich of the Krallenhorde/Ulrich, Uncontested Alpha
So, his primary human ability is to grant +4/+4 to any creature, and his transform ability allows him to apply his first ability, aswell as attack target non werewolf...
If I have a Vildin-pack alpha in play, allowing me to transform werewolves as they come into play, is Ulrichs ability available to me as he comes in, or does it have summoning sickness? Or does it still count as a creature ability, and let's me "attack" like the spell "prey upon"?
Also, does this ability work on other players turns?
Example: playing 4 player game, I pull him out (waxing moon or vildin-alpha allows him to transform. I hit creature for 8). Next player casts 2 spells, flipping him back to human, getting a creature +4. Player 3 plays no spells, so he transforms again, triggering his ability to attack, even though it's not my turn?
Does his ability also work if he is tapped?
And if I have breakneck rider/neck breaker out, giving all attacking creatures +1/0 and trample, is that effect applied also, giving Ulrich trample?
I appologize again if this thread is a repeat, I'm just curious, as this issue has recently come up in a game...
Thanks
To begin with, let's clear up what seems to be a big point of confusion. Attacking and fighting are completely unrelated things. Attacking involves the combat phase of the turn, requires that the creature be declared as an attacker during the Declare Attackers step (or, less commonly, be put onto the battlefield attacking) and allows the defending player to interact with it by blocking, or not, as they see fit. Anything that applies to "attacking" creatures only applies to creatures that are in this state during the combat phase.
Fighting is a keyword action, which simply means that the creature deals damage equal to its power to another creature while that creature does likewise to it, simultaneously.
To answer the specifics:
1. If Ulrich enters the battlefield while you control Vildin-Pack Alpha, you get two triggered abilities that fire off - Ulrich's +4/+4 and Alpha's "you may transform the Werewolf that just entered." Since you control both and they go onto the stack at the same time, you choose the order. Most likely, you want the +4/+4 to resolve first and then the transform, which will trigger the fight ability on Ulrich, Uncontested Alpha. This is unaffected by the "summoning sickness" rule (which only applies to two things: Declaring a creature as an attacker, and activating a creature's ability which has T in the activation cost).
2. Ulrich's abilities trigger whenever it transforms, which can happen on anyone's turn naturally (note the phrasing: "At the beginning of each upkeep") or as the result of any game effect that instructs you to transform it, some of which are instants.
3. Yes, the abilities still work while Ulrich is tapped. The fight keyword doesn't make an exception for tapped creatures, and again, this is different from declaring an attacker.
4. As noted above, Neck Breaker doesn't directly affect Ulrich while it is fighting another creature. However, if you manage to cause it to fight something while it is also attacking (e.g. Pit Fight during the combat phase) then the bonus applies then because Ulrich is an attacking creature. Note that having trample doesn't affect fighting in any way since trample only affects how an attacking creature may assign its combat damage.

Vildin-Pack Alpha
Summoning Sickness applies only to attacking (not fighting) and to abilities that have the "tap" symbol on their cost.
So Ulrich will enter, his +4/+4 ability will trigger and well as the Vildin's ability. When Vildin's ability transforms Ulrich, its other side's fight ability will also trigger. They all resolve normally, having their normal effects.
Or does it still count as a creature ability, and let's me "attack" like the spell "prey upon"?

Yes, Ulrich's transform trigger (and other werewolves with the same transform conditions) work on each upkeep, not only on your upkeep, so Ulrich may transform multiple times through the other player's turns.
Does his ability also work if he is tapped?
Yes. There's nothing on the ability saying Ulrich needs to be untapped.
And if I have breakneck rider/neck breaker out, giving all attacking creatures +1/0 and trample, is that effect applied also, giving Ulrich trample?
Like I said above, fighting is not attacking, so Neck Breaker's ability doesn't apply when Ulrich fights another creature.
For the same reason, if you do give Trample to Ulrich with some other card, it won't let you deal damage to a player when Ulrich fights, because Trample works when the creature attacks.
Perfect!! Thank you!!
One final question: would his ability to attack target creature come into effect right away, or would I have time to throw on an equipment/enchantment ie. Raised by wolves, before choosing a target?
Also, if a creature has death touch, and I chose to attack them, I would still die? I have a feeling I know the answer, I just want to be clear about it for when I use him tonight

Fight, not attack.
And no - you have to choose a target right away, but you do have a chance to cast an instant before the fight happens.

If you choose to fight a creature with Deathtouch, Ulrich would die if he takes any amount of damage (which he normally would).

Vildin-Pack Alpha
Neck Breaker

Ulrich of the Krallenhorde/Ulrich, Uncontested Alpha
The second side's ability lets Ulrich fight a non-werewolf creature. Fighting is not "attacking" or "combat". This will be relevant later.
Prey Upon
Again, that's not an attack.
Waxing Moon

Yes. There's nothing on the ability saying Ulrich needs to be untapped.
