There was some confusion today as to what the procedure is for game day. Due to giving out top 8 promos, do we have to cut to top 8? Or is going by standings after a few swiss rounds fine? Also, how do we determine who gets the game day mat if the top match(es) ID? I cheked the WPN website but it didnt have any of this information on it.
If there are 9-16 players, however, the cut is to top 4 (you should play 5 rounds of Swiss, not the 4 that WER recommends, as per Appendix E of the Magic Tournament Rules). Promos should still be given out to the top 8 players after the Swiss, however.

There are few men in this Parliament for whom I have greater respect than the leader of the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation. I admire him in my heart, because time and again he has had the courage to say what lays on his conscience, regardless of what the world might think of him. A man of that calibre is an ornament to any Parliament.
