Johnny has a Midnight Guard on the table.
Johnny enchants him with Song of the Dryads.
Johnny then enchants him with Squirrel Nest.
Finally, Johnny destroys the Song of the Dryads with Reclamation Sage's ETB.
Johnny then wishes to tap Midnight Guard, produce a squirrel, untap Midnight Guard, repeat.
Squirrel Nest reads "Enchanted land has.."
Midnight Guard is not a land. Midnight Guard can not activate the ability.
Johnny argues that it works.

when song of the dryads is destroyed, midnight guard becomes an illegal target and therefore goes into the graveyard.
303.4c If an Aura is enchanting an illegal object or player, the object it was attached to no longer exists, or the player it was attached to has left the game, the Aura is put into its owner's graveyard. (This is a state-based action. See rule 704.)
Squirrel Nest would be put into the graveyard after Reclamation Sage destroys Song of the Dryads. Auras do not stay attached to permanents of the wrong type. Since Midnight Guard is not a land Squirrel Nest goes to the graveyard.
303.4c If an Aura is enchanting an illegal object or player as defined by its enchant ability and other applicable effects, the object it was attached to no longer exists, or the player it was attached to has left the game, the Aura is put into its owner's graveyard. (This is a state-based action. See rule 704.)
Wait I dont understand, what if you didnt destroy song of dryads... wouldnt the chain work then?
Setting a land to one of the basic land types removes its abilities, so the Midnight Guard wouldn't have the untap trigger.
Quote from Comp. rules »
305.7. If an effect sets a land's subtype to one or more of the basic land types, the land no longer has its old land type. It loses all abilities generated from its rules text, its old land types, and any copy effects affecting that land, and it gains the appropriate mana ability for each new basic land type. Note that this doesn't remove any abilities that were granted to the land by other effects. Setting a land's subtype doesn't add or remove any card types (such as creature) or supertypes (such as basic, legendary, and snow) the land may have. If a land gains one or more land types in addition to its own, it keeps its land types and rules text, and it gains the new land types and mana abilities.

No. If a permanent "becomes a (basic land type)" without the effect also saying "in addition to its other types" or something like that, it loses all abilities from its own rules text. This is the main point of Song of the Dryads. The Midnight Guard enchanted by Song doesn't have its untap trigger.
