I have been a Level 1 judge for a few years now and my status was revoked due to inactivity. I have no issue with this as I was in the middle of transatlantic move and did not have time to maintain my once per 6 months requirement. After being at my new location I have judged several events and have not had my status reinstated. Does anyone know of a way to fix this problem? I have contacted my regional coordinator but have heard nothing back and that was 3-4 weeks ago.
Basically, you need to start from scratch. You need to take the test again, which must be administered by an L2+. Also, double check Judge Center to see if your certification actually did lapse. I believe the requirement is 1 event per 12 months now, I think 1/6 months is old.
My advice is to contact your closest L2+.

Level 2 Magic Judge
Cards do what they say they do. No more. No less.
Yup, they updated the requirements and the hoops needed to jump through in order to get the qualification back. I'm sitting in the same boat, but am waiting until I can get things settled down before going back at it.
W may only be paid with white mana. U may only be paid with blue mana. B may only be paid with black mana. R may only be paid with red mana. G may only be paid with green mana. C may only be paid with colorless mana. 1 may be paid with white, blue, black, red, green, or clolorless mana.
Seriously? I read somewhere on the Judge site (cannot find where. We all know how convoluted that site is) that you just needed to judge an event and it would reset your level one. And yes, mine did lapse, It shows me as a Level 0 in the judge center.
If you lapse as a judge, you are supposed to retest to get back to Level 1. It's unclear whether you should be automatically bumped to level 1 if you judge again, but you really should contact a L2+ judge or your RC about this. I would suggest contacting your RC again (hopefully you were using this form - http://blogs.magicjudges.org/contact/contact-a-regional-coordinator/ ) - it's possible that your RC is busy or your message slipped through the cracks, so try contacting them again.

Scientists have calculated that the chance of anything so patently absurd actually existing are millions to one. But magicians have calculated that million-to-one chances crop up nine times out of ten.
Trying to contact something through the Judge Center is not recommended, since the message doesn't always go through. I would advise using the form that I linked to to contact RCs.

As a general question, who would be the person to talk to if the RC doesn't answer e-mails either? I know I tried to contact my RC with several concerns that I had and never received a response, and basically just decided to resign from the judge program altogether due to abysmal communication (or lack thereof).

Is WotC aware of this? I have never seen the link you sent me to until just now. I used to to contact my RC and will update this when/if he replies. Thanks again
EDIT: I just got a message back from the judge center (Brian Schenck) telling me to use the link you provided. I have heard nothing back as of yet but figured I would provide this update anyway.
If your RC doesn't respond, I would recommend contacting another L3 in your region. They should be able to tell you what the issue is, and either help you with your concerns or provide an alternate means of contacting your RC.
that if a judge expires from inactivity, the means to certify again is to have an interview entered in the Judge Center. Just judging does not work.
So just judging does not get your judge level back: you need to have an interview done (probably by a L2+ judge) and entered into the Judge Center.
