I know a fair bit is said about the subject regularly, but I hope the gurus here won't mind if I put myself at ease by asking about a specific scenario regarding splitting prizes. This situation happened some time ago. Nobody got in trouble, but I realized later that we were crossing some lines.
The scenario: Tournament is X rounds of swiss followed by a cut to top 8 and single elimination. The only prize is a booster box at 1st place. Naturally, most players planned to attempt to make it to the finals and then split the box, which I know is 100% legal. I managed to make it into the finals after a grueling 8 hour day, expecting the final round to be over in the span of a handshake. However, my opponent adamantly refused to draw, due to a desire for more planeswalker points. To resolve the situation as well as I could, I offered him the win if he agreed to split the packs evenly with me, which I now believe would constitute offering a bribe in exchange for a match result.
If a similar situation comes up again, what is the best way for me to resolve a split without breaking any tournament regulations? Besides simply playing the round out, of course.

The decision to drop, concede, or agree to an intentional draw cannot be made in exchange for or influenced by
the offer of any reward or incentive. Making such an offer is prohibited. Unless the player receiving such an offer
calls for a judge immediately, both players will be penalized in the same manner.
Players are allowed to share prizes they have not yet received in the current tournament as they wish and may
agree as such before or during their match, as long as any such sharing does not occur in exchange for any game
or match result or the dropping of a player from the tournament
.
As an exception, players in the announced last round of the single-elimination portion of a tournament may agree to divide tournament prizes as they wish. In that case, one of the players at each table must agree to drop from the tournament. Players are then awarded prizes according to their resulting ranking.
In this case what you did was agree to split the booster box and then concede which is perfectly legal.
I swear, I've read that exact excerpt before. Somehow, I missed the exception clause.
Good to know I wasn't doing anything illegal, then. Thanks for the help!
Not quite. If that clause is used, you drop from the tournament instead of playing the last round.
The difference being that since no match is played, your opponent doesn't get any points for beating you.
You could always negotiate to alter the prizes such that no matter who wins, you both get half. If they agree, you're free to concede to your opponent. The important thing is that the concession (ie. Planeswalker points) isn't given on the condition that your opponent agrees to the split.
