Mine was a Hunted Horror deck playing 4x Torpor Orb and 4x Hushwing Gryff.
I thought that the centaurs would more than balance it out, but it was too late as a Torpor Orb made me feel like an idiot.
My opponent was a real vintage player, and had a real vintage stax deck (with some proxies). My victories went very much to his chagrin, and I don't blame him for being annoyed. He was a better player with a better deck, and I didn't even understand the format I was playing. I was summarily thrashed by another player's Time Vault/ Voltaic Key deck, but I came out of it thinking that there was something to my monoblack build. Mostly what I had was luck, but turn one Hymn to Tourach does go a long way.
A land destruction deck with no real wincon, so we were just sitting across from each other for like an hour. I spent the match chatting to everyone in the store except my opponent.

in standard when I was playing UW approach in DOM season. Lost to BW approach using lich's mastery and a bunch of other bad cards. There's probably more but I can't remember
I played a UG standard deck in theros block that ramped and used thassa's ire to tap down the opponents creatures. The only win con was a 5 piece infinite mana combo with hydra broodmother. But now I play necrotic ooze in modern so basically i just feel bad for whoever I beat

Some years ago, I knew nothing about what Vintage really was. I was invited to play with infinite proxies at a little four-person event. I brewed up a mono-black aggro zombie deck based on nothing, as I refused to net-deck in any way. The deck played 4 Dark Ritual, 4 Hymn to Tourach, 4 Sinkhole, I think 3 Undead Warchief, some Maggot Carriers, some Carnophages, and some Lord of the Undeads. I even had a techy Zombie Trailblazer for some stupid reason. Mox Jet and Black Lotus were my only restricted cards.
