I have the option of getting one sealed fat pack at a very good price, and my options are Fate Reforged and Dragons of Tarkir. I know FRF will phase out Standard before DTK, but maybe the chance of getting better rares from FRF outweights that drawback. What would you advise?
(I know it's better buying singles, but as I've come back to the game quite recently I want to have Standard-playable cards and a little bit of rares for my binder and all that).

Before the glory of Yawgmoth, yes, even this makes sense.
I'd say it depends on the cards you would like to open.
Plus, both set will rotate out at the same time, so that point is not quite relevant.
You can check the running tally to see card prices.
IMO, Ugin and Tasigur are sure values, and FRF might be better, but there's more pricey cards in DTK...
I personnaly would go with FRF.
No, DTK will rotate with Origins, and FRF with KTK some time before that. At least it's what I understood when they explained the new rotation system (and it's what's listed on What's in Standard?).
I'm kind of divided, as I've got a WG deck that will get better with some cards from DTK, but some other from FRF look great for another deck I'm building so... hahaha
Thank you!

Indeed, my bad, I got a bit lost with the new rotation :/
In that case, if what you want is cards for standard, go for DTK as it will last much longer! ^^
I think DTK is a better option not only for rotation purposes, but for value. The dragonlords are high priced and maybe they will retain that high price over time.
