I've opened almost a booster box of Modern Masters 2015 single booster packs myself. I've also opened these packs in the presence of other people opening their own packs. We all noticed that many of our cards were coming out of the package damaged, at least to the point of being considered "slightly played". Personally, my Noble Hierarch and Cryptic Command are kinda depressing. Most of the damage comes in the form of border/edge fraying/knicks and corner damage. My group came around to the question, "Could this damage be being caused by the new recyclable packaging?" The cards might have a bit of room to move around in these new packs, knocking the cards against their packaging and each other. However, the cards also seem a little thicker/waxier than previous cards. Maybe this causes some issues while cutting the cards at factory, making it a bit of a sloppier end result. Anyways, do ya'll have similar or differing opinions? I'd like to know what everyone thinks about this aspect and their experience with card quality coming out of the new packaging. Thanks for your time!
I don't know whether it's the packaging or what, but many of the cards I opened and drafted had very visible abnormalities. It's hard to call it wear, since the cards are virtually pack-fresh, but many of my cards have what appear to be scuff marks towards the bottom of the card. Not only that, but some of them had visible scratches across the picture. Now that I'm looking through my draft picks from last night, I see that many, many cards have these or similar blemishes.
I guess it is possible that it's the result of reusing old sleeves, however the blemishes aren't just dirt that you can easily rub off. It doesn't come up after being rubbed with cloth or even with a fingernail.
Nearly all of my foils have scratches on them as well...
I didn't think that edge scuffing was any worse than it has been since the release of KtK. At least where I live, this seems to be an ongoing problem.
That's depressing that your KTK and forward packs have been rough too. Luckily, most of my standard booster packs have had fine quality, though there has been some questionable ones here and there. However, nothing like my MM2 experience. Today I finally pulled some cards in mint condition and, to my relief, one of them is my best pull yet (Mox Opal). It still upsets me that I'll have to trade/sell my Noble Hierarch and Cryptic Command as played, especially paying $10 a pack. Honestly, I don't think it's your sleeves; I used brand new, purchased immediately before cracking the packs, sleeves for my draft and those cards are terrible. It's weird they decided to try something new with a such an expensive set. Oh well though, I guess. I'm thinking about trying to send my back to get replacements.
The cards aren't tight in the packs, and have room to move around more than in regular packs. If they get jostled around too much during shipment, they can get minor damage. The new packaging sucked, hopefully they learn from this failed experiment.

The Meaning of Life: "M-hmm. Well, it's nothing very special. Uh, try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations"

Agreed. I've opened maybe about 10 MM packs and since the cards can jostle around I've had some damaged cards. Not damaged to the point of where it reduces the value that much but noticeable enough to make you go

Hmmm...
Blue lives don't matter in the slightest.
