I think Khans is the worst set and will probably be the worst block since Kamigawa. The only reason players will buy this set is for the fetches, because most of the other rares and mythics are unplayable!
Given the fact that Jeskai Ascendancy already spawned a new Modern deck, Treasure Cruise and Monastery Swiftspear see play as 4-ofs in Legacy, and there's a good selection of the other rares and mythics that have seen play (Sidisi, Narset, Sarkhan, Sorin from the mythics) within just a week of the set being released, I'd say you're hilariously wrong.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
besides the walkers and fetches, name me five cards that will stand the test of time.
Name 5 cards that stood the test of time from any single set that we knew about 5 days after the release. It's way way too early to tell how things will play out.
Dig Through Time, Treasure Cruise, Jeskai Ascendancy, Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker are the clear standouts. Sorin, Solemn Visitor may see play in moderns BW token decks, Bloodsoaked Champion is being looked at, and all the charms will see use. So aside from fetch lands, we got at least 6 cards to look at, and there may well be sleepers that are just waiting to be broken. Khans doesn't have the the fatties or game warping spells we used to see, but it's still a decent set thats been out for UNDER A WEEK! Give it time man.

I think this is the first time in recent memory that a set has been released and has contributed two 4-ofs to a winning Legacy deck- and then about 5 Modern decks placed highly, all running Jeskai Ascendancy.
I want to give the Ascendancy a minute or two to cool down before I really make my stance on it. It's fantastic looking engine, and it has already put up results, but I want to see how the meta responds before anything else happens. It could get hated out of existence, turn into something like Grislebrand did in Modern, or go onto be a top deck. It's a bit to early for me to say right now.
I'm not trying to imply that it will break modern, as some people seem to think it will, but it does seem like a very resilient deck to me, especially since most of the time, you can go off at instant speed in response to an Abrupt Decay. It's possible it's very glass cannon, but looking at it, it does seem like it could be a big player.
It could also immediately get hated out, true. But I think the fact we're having this discussion shows it's at least a little bit game warping.

Well, I can saw a woman in two, but you won't wanna look in the box when I'm through.
Valid point. The deck is at its worst if you focus your removal/counter/discard on the Wishes or Ascendancys. I don't like targeting the mana dorks unless I have to, as they run so many they are sure to find one. They have to way to really get around Eidolon of the Great Revel, Ethersworn Canonist, Spirit of the Labyrinth, Leonin Arbiter, along with a few others.
I still find it odd that Khans of all things could be considered worse than Born of the Gods/Journey into Nyx, M15 could also have been in that list, as it was a little disappointing for me at least. And people seem to forget that while Kamigawa wasn't great for standard, it did give use some of the most powerful cards in magic, all the big names are banned in modern, so I struggle to say it was the worst.
Khans is a 5 or 6 out of ten. I think it's better than Kamigawa . If Khans would've had a good 2 mana removal spell , Burn and Counterspell. It would be a 8 out of 10 for me. I hope the next set will fill in that stuff. Khans is not the worst set but it's middle of the road at best.
I am going to say if you think KTK is a bad set, you either have not been playing for long or your expectations for Magic sets is so high, no set will ever satisfy you.
KTK is a solid set for limited ad constructed. Time will tell how solid.

How is wanting another set like Alara too high? Alara was completely overpowered by Lorwyn. Anyone who says that Khans is the perfect power level is just wrong. So many prerelease matches went to time. If I have to wait an hour for a match and I am not playing edh I get angry. Magic wasn't made to take hours.
matches going to time, have little to do with the set, but more to do with the players and their card evaluations.
Personally I disliked Alara. I can not stand cheap mechanics like cascade. I think KTK is a better set then Alara was.

I've yet to see a set top Homelands in terms of suck-titude. Miserable in Constructed, miserable in Limited.
One time our lgs ran a Homelands draft just for the lulzies. Most miserable (mtg) thing I've ever been through. Most matches were just who won the first game, as there was no progress to a second game. The best part was the prize for winning this miserable contraption of tangible torture:
a homelands booster box

I'm going to recommend this at some point to my LGS for the sheer magnitude of "wtf is this". KTK is eliciting the same reaction sets always do. new sets suck etc. I'm not a fan of standard or midrange based formats in general. Limited is alright.
As far as personal opinions go, it seems pretty decent to me. Those delve cards are certainly not to be underestimated and will likely become staples after some rotations occur.

Can we sticky a thread that called "THE LATEST SET IS THE WORST SET EVER!" and then lock it so when someone gets the urge to vomit their tired opinion into the forum, they can just open that thread instead and feel better?
Born of the Gods was worse in my opinion. It did almost nothing to standard aside from a few cards and was so uninspired compared to the other sets in it's block.

Worst block in recent-ish years? Theros, without a doubt.
Khans might get significantly better in the next two sets. I hope so...
I think Murderous Cut will end up seeing a lot of modern play. Maybe as a 2-of rather than a 4-of, though.
That's without mentioning mythics, by the by.
