Basically, because I'm curious. I'm not asking about cards that you need, but rather cards that make you go "It'd be nice if I had this". Cards that you'd go "If I had it, I'd really like to use it, but I probably wouldn't buy it" are good for this.
For me, currently, Phyrexian Obliterator and Wurmcoil Engine. I'm really sad I traded these off, and I wish I still had my playsets, especially since they've gone up in price so recently. I also would like Birthing Pod because the standard Naya Pod deck is one of the few standard decks I actually completely loved, and I'd love to brew with Birthing Pod again.
No one will trade me this card! I tried to buy him and he sold out grrr.
If someone said they buy me a play set of any card In magic I'd ask for scalding tarns because not owning fetchlands and trying to play modern sucks. marsh flats and verdant catacombs I'd also like to own.
At the moment, I wouldn't mind a playset of Athreos, God of Passage. A playset is totally within my budget but I would rather use my funds elsewhere. A very neat card though and if I had a playset, I would make some sorta B/W drain home brew deck.
As for cards that I do intend to get, three Plateaus. I'm getting them in the next few weeks and when I do, I'll finally have the coveted set of 40 duals!

Hey guys so I've actually moved on from commander on to 60 card decks so I don't have any commander decks.
Anyway I've started my own gameplay channel in which I play games (Magic also)
Seismic Strike - I'm hesitant on getting this mainly because it has a soft dependency on my mana pool, hwoever my deck is mainly constructed of RU, so it wouldn't be too much of a dependency.
Sliver Hivelord - Main reason I want this is because I have a few good combos between the three Sliver creatures I have and artifacts such as Fireshrieker and enchantments like Lightning Talons, but I'm trying to avoid hosers in my deck and sideboard.
FOIL Future Sight Tarmogoyfs. I plan on actually purchasing these in a month or two when I get settlement money. Hopefully they don't go up too much by then. :|

Where did you manage to find such a deal? I'd trade off 4 Goyfs in a heartbeat (assuming not foil Japanese Tarmogoyfs).
It was much more than 4 goyfs but the rest of the stuff I've gotten back (at least the ones I somewhat care about)

Since I play EDH, there are a lot of cards I wish I had or wish I had more copies of, but I just can't bring myself to buy or trade for them. I'd love to have a few more Volrath's Stronghold. I have one in my Kaalia deck but Jarad, Prossh and Marrow-Gnawer could all use a copy. Same with Demonic Tutor and Vampiric Tutor. I've been wanting a few Crucible of Worlds for an eternity, but I keep thinking it's going to get reprinted any time now. I used to have several copies too. :/
I also really want a playset plus of the Theros temples, but I feel like most of them (especially the ones I need most like Plenty, Enlightenment and Malady) are overpriced. I hate the idea of trading Modern/Legacy/EDH staples for them when I could be getting Shocklands for the same price.
I'd also like a full playset of revised duals. I have 2 of each, which is fine (I just fill in slots with shocks and it's not worth $2,000+ for me to get the rest).
