Personally, i run Tribute to hunger, but that is in my mono black deck. My friend has a black and white deck, and he is running Geth's verdict. I told him he should check out Chainer's Edict, and he told me he didn't like it, and would even run Tribute to hunger over it like i do. I tried to explain to him that it is situation, but i dont think i changed his mind. What do you think?

Whats the big deal about black lotus you ask? Well you see, there is no big deal about it. It IS the big deal.
Chainer's Edict is sorcery speed, so you couldn't EOT it or you couldn't use it in response to your opponent casting another creature. Since Chainer's Edict is not modern legal I imagine it's gonna be hard to flash it back for 7cmc when you can use all kinds of crazy powerful cards.
Have you seen Innocent Blood and Diabolic Edict? While one is sorcery speed and bilateral, it does cost less, which can be huge in games sometimes. Diabolic Edict is instant speed, like Geth's Verdict, but they don't lose a life, which isn't very noticeable, so long as the creature is off the board.
Yeah that's true. I did see Diabolic, but i hadn't really checked out innocent blood. It seems decent enough, but would suck late game because i would hate having to sacrifice a creature too.

How casual is your casual? Because from husband's experience it seems that the most powerful of such thing is Liliana of the Veil, because that's a repeatable effect. Otherwise from those they are in order as you've listed them; however, Chainer's Edict might be better than Geth's if mana base isn't that forgiving. Didn't test Innocent Blood, though; in our strange community they are harder to find that Lilis.
Well Liliana of the veil is certainly repeatable. But it is also very foreshadowed, because you can see they have the potential for removal. Also, in order to use her repeated times, you have to use her +1 twice, which is good because you get your opponent to discard, but also bad if you have cards in hand you don't want to discard, and seeing as she sits at CMC 3, if you get her out the first available time, you most likely will have a few cards in hand.
