I voted Ravnica. You can never have enough Ravnica! And I'm not even that huge fan of multicolored. It's just that the world, guilds and everything else is so... fascinating. Mirrodin is just bland in comparison. And besides, I was never a huge fan of artifacts.
So, yeah, Ravnica 3 please... maybe some kind of prequel to Ravnica? When it still contained wilderness and guildpact wasn't signed yet? That would be interesting.

I prefer to multicolour to artifacts, but I voted Mirrodin. I'm much more interested on what is happening in Mirrodin with the Phyrexians than I am with what's up on Ravnica. I thought Scars block in particular was great at conveying the overall mood of a realm close to destruction / compleation. RTR was cool and all, but at times it felt like 10 subsets of cards mixed together with not a whole lot of synergy.
If you had to choose one, which of the following planes would you like WotC to revisit for a 3rd time: Mirrodin or Ravnica?
Which plane do you think has more potential design space?
Which plane did you enjoy more either time around?
Which set did you enjoy drafting the most?
Do you prefer artifact blocks?
Do you prefer multicolor blocks?
Frame your answer to this question however you like.
I love two-color decks so I'm going to go with Ravnica. But based on the huge popularity for both planes, it would be safe to say Wizards will definitely revisit both.
Ravnica's pretty played out as far as the storyline goes. Yep, 10 guilds, yep a gatecrash movement that has essentially no power. Nothing in Ravnica will ever change which makes the sets kinda bland.
Mirrodin, on the other hand, has some pretty sweet plot potential now that the Phyrexians have taken over. I'm excited to see where it takes us.
I'd choose literally any plane over Ravnica. Any plane. Even one that doesn't exist anymore. So I voted for Mirrodin.

Thou shalt not have others of the same Legendary before me Thou shalt not frame images with the modern card face Thou shalt not change rules in vain Remember the Reserved List to keep it holy Honor thy Slivers and the symmetry of their abilities Thou shalt not kill mana burn Thou shalt not sacrifice depth for accessibility Thou shalt not steal combat damage from the stack Thou shalt tell a story through thy cards All must be one
I voted Mirrodin, but I actually prefer multicolored blocks.
But it looks like SoM block was much better executed, even though I was on a break from magic at that time. I did play the original Mirrodin block, and 2.0 really looks like a lot of fun.
RtR block was pretty poorly executed in my book. Dragon's Maze was just awful, I think I only played 2 limited events after having enough. GTC was also less than impressive.
New phyrexia though, man, that looked like a blast!
So in light of that, I'd like to return to Mirrodin.
I also voted Mirrodin, I also wold like to ratify everything you said.
The thing is I was on a break from Magic until Rise of the Eldrazi so I actualy played The Scars block and it really was awesome. It could have been better but it still is miles better than RtR (actualy almost anything can do better than it).
For Ravinca to be done well they need to make all 10 guilds distinct and playable. But this does not mesh well with Wizards wanitng to make Magic all about creaturers, with the rest being an afterthought. If they were going to make a block that had every aspect and facet of the game in balance (as in card Draw, discard, GY stratagies, Instant/sorcery stratagies, counter magic, artifacts, enchantments, etc al being playable as well as playable aggro, control and combo decks) they I would go with Ravinca as it could be done to support that quite well, but as long as it is the present creature hyper-focused with 90% of the set unplayable design they are on at the moment They can not do Ravinca true justice.
Also Phyrexian's are to cool, powerful, dangerous, nostalgic to not touch again, so Mirrodin gets my vote.
They were way too conservative with Return to Ravnica. Everything about it was so tame, the cards, the mechanics, and even the plot. They hold that plane in too high regards and are afraid of exploring new territories with it.
I don't know what another block on Mirrodin would be like, and that's why I'd prefer to return there instead. At least R&D have shown they aren't afraid of doing crazy stuff there.
Which plane do you think has more potential design space? Ravnica has more options.
Which plane did you enjoy more either time around? SOM
Which set did you enjoy drafting the most? I don't get out often enough to draft.
Do you prefer artifact blocks? I like them just fine.
Do you prefer multicolor blocks? Yes.
With all that said, I voted for Mirrodin 3.0. /rant RTR was a big letdown that failed to truely capture the essence of the first. Instead it all seemed kind of forced. Especially with cards like Awe for the Guilds or their whole campaign that just screamed "HEY LOOK GUYS GUILDS! THE GUILDS ARE BACK! PLAY WITH OUR GUILDS!"
What made the guilds special in the first place is that they were just maguffins for showing off each dual color combo, and how they interact with each other. Yes bringing back the guilds was important, but I felt they put too much focus on them this time.
Then there was that BS with the Gateless movement that never happened, but if it did then it would have been INFINITELY better than a freaking marathon./endrant
I would very much like to see the story SOM presented continued. Something with Phyrexians discovering planar travel would be nice. Mabye a block that brings everything together like Time Spiral did. Sort of like an Infinite Crisis for Magic with all the villains against all the heroes.
I do prefer multicolor blocks more, but I'd rather see a set that explores wedges rather than a revisit to Ravnica again.
They should have the Phyrexians invade Ravnica, with the guilds uniting to fight off the invasion. Invasion 2.0!
Wow that sounds like such a cool idea. Nevermind that we just had Return to Ravnica, I want this to be the next expansion set! (but that's only wishful thinking)
Which plane do you think has more potential design space?
Mirrodin. The guilds have already been established, but should we return to Mirrodin/New Phyrexia, we'd a whole new as-yet-to-be-fully-realized Phyrexia.
Which plane did you enjoy more either time around?
Mirrodin. I love artifacts, Phyrexia, and the bending of the color pie.
Which set did you enjoy drafting the most?
N/A. Never drafted a Mirrodin Block/Scars of Mirrodin Block set. I had plenty of fun during the Return to Ravnica Block, though.
Do you prefer artifact blocks?
Do you prefer multicolor blocks?
In general, artifact over multicolored, but I like to see multicolored more often.

I don't always post about Rafiq of the Many, but when I do, I cardlink to the original artwork, and not the supplementary product version.

Ravnica. There's nothing left of Mirrodin anymore.
Which plane did you enjoy more either time around?
Neither. The originals of each were far superior and a lot more fun than their successors.
Which set did you enjoy drafting the most?
Ravnica was more fun to draft.
Do you prefer artifact blocks?
I love artifacts, but I am not a fan of equipment. In fact, I hate equipment.
Do you prefer multicolor blocks?
No. I do not like the way that WIzards has made mana-fixing so easy during multi-color blocks.
