Yeah, Immortal Coil. If you cast it, you just lose most of the time.

Into the Maw of Hell is a name so awesome, it deserves its own song.
It would be about a world of brown spikes and red fire, where men fight and scream and become blurry masses. Then it would change to somber, we learn that this glorious place exists only in Raymond Swanland's head. To visit it, you must enter the maw of Hell itself.
5/1/2009: Dragon Appeasement itself doesn't allow you to sacrifice any creatures. Its last ability triggers whenever you sacrifice a creature because some other spell, ability, or cost instructed you to.
At least Immortal Coil combos in a cool way with Bazaar Trader and has some Johnny applications. I saw it used by a friend to great success in conjunction with Puca's Mischief at a PTQ last Standard season. His final record put him just outside of top 8 (he ended maybe 10th or 11th place out of 250 people), and he swears it was thanks to Immortal Coil.
Dragon Appeasement is so overcosted, has two tremendous drawbacks, and it's benefit is small. Especially for a tri-color card.
While Immortal Coil combos with only one card, Dragon Appeasement combos with every spawn-maker, including Awakening Zone.
Do note that you skip your draw step so you would need at least 2 Awakening Zones on the battlefield to do anything worthwhile. Even then, you could easily find a card that draws you a card each turn without requiring a combo such as Honden of Seeing Winds.
With 1 Awakening Zone, your net gain per turn would only be 1 colorless mana, a minute gain for a 6 mana enchantment.

I'm going to go with Glory Seeker, seeing as there's at least the potential for a combo deck or some luck with Near-Death Experience. A vanilla bears has never been and will never been a playable card.

With awakening zone, you nullify the drawback while still having an entire deck based around it.
Contrary to popular belief (created in part due to excessive power creep), a 2/2 vanilla bear is still playable in Limited. Glory Seeker is a solid little creature, a reasonable cost, with no drawback. There are worse cards in this set, even in white.

This ruling makes me want to facepalm further.

Immortal Coil for me.
Expensive, unscalable life gain.
"Serious question, why are the people in the mtgsal thread so ****ing stupid?"
What Magic Color are You, MORON ?

Rise of the Eldrazi is next, starting with White.

Kor Line-Slinger for me. Too restrictive for the cost.

Sphinx-Bone Wand will never win you a game you haven't already won, so it gets my vote.EDIT: Didn't realize this was by color, sorry. Gotta stick with Near-Death Experience then.
