I'd like to say Goyf. I'd really, really like to say Goyf. but you know what? that creature isn't fun at all. it's efficient, but it doesn't evoke any great memories.
I am, however, going to say Oona. She defies a lot of stereotypical labels; She's a legend with a kick ass ability that is actually relevant while still filling flavor. oh, the big girl is a definate love in my book.

LOL Im sorry but I found that statement sooooo funny. Ive played tog in aggro decks and in controll deck. He is a very solid creature. If by combo piece you mean combo with winning. That statment really makes little to no cents to me.
As for my oppinion to best creatue, its got to be goblin welder. Ive won and lost some many games to that bugger.
Morphling and Psychatog. I was playing back in the day, and I understand how powerful and importaint these creatures were; but are they still there? Do they honestly still have what it takes? If morphling was in standard, how much of an impact would he honestly have? Apply the same question to previous rotations, and I can't find a home for him until back in Mir/kami era standard.
I feel they diserve an honorable place in the top 10 list, but I don't know if they are literally a top 10 creature anymore.
I would vote for Tarmogoyf but it just doesn't have the fun factor that some other cards do. It's a beater that should've costed at least 1g more. I personally disagree that Darksteel Colossus deserves props as one of the 10 greatest creatures of all time, certainly not over Masticore or Metalworker in the artifact creature department. The colossus is the pinnacle of enormous creatures, but doesn't see play except as a Tinker or Tooth and Nail target. I certainly wouldn't place him on a list over Hypnotic Specter, which, imo, might just be the greatest creature of all time. Around since alpha, has a spotless resume of striking fear into the hearts of ones opponents and wrecking hands since day 1.
Hippie, imo, should be given the crown. The hippie is still good and has one of the biggest legacies of any creature in Magic.
In no specific order i would list as such. Goblin Welder, Hypnotic Specter, Morphling, Akroma Angel of text, Dark Confidant, Mishra's Factory, Psychatog, Phyrexian Negator, Birds of Paradise, Tarmogoyf. they are good at what they do. Indeed i agree with jimbo about hippie your opponent has to scramble to remove it before their hand is gone^^

and hippie was never that good outside turn 1 swamp, dark ritual then hippie. he sees no play in type 2 at all. last week this guy walked in to the local store to get rid of some old cards, and saw hippie with his new art and black border. "i bet he sees a lot of play around here" he said i looked at him and told him "none actually".

I've always liked Clone and Vesuvan Doppelganger. Sure, I'll have what you have. (Pretty much anything that copies other things is just as powerful as whatever is on the board. So why wouldn't it be that much more powerful cause of flexibility?)
In that case, Slippery Bogle is the best card of all time. Clearly because I like it so much (as you can tell with my avvy and sig).
My head is telling me Meloku.
My mind is saying Pristine Angel. Yes, she's a lot tougher to deal with than people remember.
But my heart stays with Psychatog. (For the record, this is my official vote)

Its a continual ping back and forth between the creature and the enchantment that continually deals infinate 1 damage to your opponent.
