The scion of the Ur-Dragon flavor text is taken from the Invasion dragon legends attendants flavor texts. I actually think it's decently flavorful.
I understand the flavor reasons for the Ur-Dragon, but I just didn't feel it was epic enough. It's just trying to connect to the syntax of an earlier cycle and it doesn't work for me personally.
As to the tally, tough one, but I'll break the tie in favor of Firewake Sliver. The short, stunted sentences just irritate me. Plus, although the writer tried to connect to the card name, if you look at the ability of the sliver, he's not burning anything. He's mimicking Fires of Yavimaya and sacrificing to pump, not delivering a Tarfire as the text would suggest.
Firewake Sliver = 2
Harmonic Sliver = 1
Opaline Sliver = 1
Scion of the Ur-Dragon = 1
Chromatic Star. Very boring way to say that the thing is old.

Enough time has passed. I'll break the tie in favor of Candles of Leng. That's what the card does -- magically make texts appear brand new? Eh, I don't really buy it. Poor way to connect the card ability to the flavor text, honestly.
I'll vote for Vesuva for being uninspired and also not exactly correct. It mimicks a particular place you've been, but it's not everywhere at once. That text might work if the ability of the card was akin to Vesuvan Doppelganger, but it's actually a Clone effect. Kinda sad.
Breaking the tie here in favor of Kher Keep, as it was my original choice and I was hesitating between voting for it or Vesuva. The issue here is that it's a silly bit of dialogue and it just doesn't sound like something that would come out of Teferi's mouth. A bit too tongue-in-cheek.
Breaking the tie again in favor of Ghost Tactician. The flavor text for Enchantress isn't great, but it's a better fit than the Tactician, as a +1/+0 bonus hardly seems worthy of a lifetime of combat and steel.
Voted: Auramancer's Guise
I always hated this card's flavour text. It's annoying and makes no sense in the context of the card. How the ☺☺☺☺ does getting huge and gaining vigilance have anything to do with "revealing" anything? It is confusing and generic and sound like it could be on any blue card ever.
Also, the art neither shows what what the card has to do with revelation or what it has to do with Auramancy or Auramancers (the dude in the picture doesn't look like an auramancer to me). But that's for another thread.
For the record, I love the phrase on Dreamscape Artist, but then again I loved this card in limited and I am a huge sucker for a bad pun, so maybe I am a little biased.

Several years ago, WotC apparently surveyed Magic players across the globe. They found that people liked turning things sideways, and hated LD. This is the result:
Looks like I've gotta be the tie-breaker. Merfolk Thaumaturgist is gonna be my pick, as I voted for the Artist already and upon second reflection, I don't hate the pun nearly as much as I did initially. Thaumaturgist isn't very good at all. Tahngarth comes off sounding like a whiny British person and it's trying way too hard to connect to the card ability.
Not a lot to truly dislike here, but Kor Dirge gets my vote. The text has absolutely no connection to the card's ability. The card redirects damage from one target creature to another, and the text discusses Mirri killing goblins and replacing them with a new slave race? What am I missing here? There's a similarity, sure, but it's not discussing the same thing.
To be honest, I like Kor Dirge. Its flavor text may not relate directly to its ability, but it does connect to the flavor of the card and tell another snippet of the alternate Tempest storyline (which I enjoy very much.) It also explains why the Kor ability (traditionally white) is not showing up in black (the Kor themselves have been enslaved by a dark ruler.)
I'll vote for/against Bog Serpent. It's kind of boring and just doesn't do much for me.
I'll second Bog Serpent. Really uninspired, IMO. I absolutely love the art, however.

Firewake Sliver = 2
Harmonic Sliver = 1
Opaline Sliver = 1
Scion of the Ur-Dragon = 1
Firewake Sliver blazes not so brightly in the night.
Next: Time Spiral Artifact
Prismatic Lens for me. Not at all interesting. It's a perfect description of the card, but it doesn't tell you anything that isn't already obvious.
Venser's Sliver gets my vote however.
Legacy Decks:
Legendary Maverick GW
"In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite." - Paul Dirac
Candles of Leng = 2
Chromatic Star = 1
Paradise Plume = 1
Prismatic Lens = 1
Venser's Sliver = 1
Candles of Leng doesn't light the way.
Lastly: Time Spiral Land
I'll vote for Vesuva for being uninspired and also not exactly correct. It mimicks a particular place you've been, but it's not everywhere at once. That text might work if the ability of the card was akin to Vesuvan Doppelganger, but it's actually a Clone effect. Kinda sad.

Thanks piet for the avatar
Kher Keep = 2
Flagstones of Trokair = 1
Terramorphic Expanse = 1
Vesuva = 1
Kher Keep is as likeable as a cockroach.
That wraps up Time Spiral. We have a whole new set of flavor misadventures awaiting us in Planar Chaos, starting with Planar Chaos White.
Nothing too horrible to see here, but Whitemane Lion is a bit on the weak side. I don't think this guy is epic enough to have storms named after him.
"A lifetime of combat and steel" is more than +1/+0 to me.
Legacy Decks:
Legendary Maverick GW
- Ghandi
Thanks piet for the avatar
Ghost Tactician = 2
Mesa Enchantress = 1
Whitemane Lion = 1
Ghost Tactician is unworthy of veteran status.
Next: Planar Chaos Blue
Dreamscape Artist gets my vote. It's such a terrible pun.
Legacy Decks:
Legendary Maverick GW
Merfolk Thaumaturgist

Dreamscape Artist = 3
Auramancer's Guise = 1
Synchronous Sliver = 1
Super close, but Merfolk Thaumaturgist manages to reverse the voting numbers with its closest competitor for a win.
Next: Planar Chaos Black

Kor Dirge = 1
Rathi Trapper = 1
Bog Serpent rightfully eats its way to victory.
Next: Planar Chaos Red
Has to be Prodigal Pyromancer. "Learn to burn!" is about as uncreative as it gets.
