edit: don't want to risk people reading card names, better safe than sorry, just removing everything. Seeing card names from MBS in a thread clearly about MBS art would be a tragedy
I believe that I have enough social competence to slip into a party or two, potentially wooing some attractive females that would not mind spending the evening performing the booty dance on me.
I really like the MBS art, overall. I think the style goes well with the theme of the set.
Regarding some of the released MBS art, the image below stands out as a vastly different style from the rest. I like the art, it just seems like it doesn't fit with everything else we've seen so far.
Luv it, Kembas legion looks pretty wicked =) despite the fact it sucks...
Plus all the hate on treasure mages art... but i mean its a good card lol?
If jace was a brown plank nobody would care -_-?
On the whole, I think that the art of SOM block is a big step up from the dark, smudgy blurs of illustration that typifies Rise of the Eldrazi, which to my eyes in one of the lowest points in recent MTG art. Regarding MBS, I really like how the five Suns are incorporated into a lot of artwork, not just in the "Zenith" cycle, but in cards like Treasure Mage (in spite of the "dood on metal dragon" silliness), Morbid Plunder, and Goblin Wardriver.
A few illustrations, like Choking Fumes (on what fumes are they choking? That green stuff from which they seem to be recoiling and not grabbing their throats in choke-itude?), Burn the Impure ("burning the impure" means to slice in half a Viashino[?] with a blade of fire?), and Myr Turbine (um, we've seen this one before) show some slip-ups in the art direction. Although I currently don't like the current state of art direction on the whole, and would like to see more diversity, if you are going build a strong uniformity into the art, mistakes become much more noticeable...

Do you like or dislike the art style for MBS, and why?
